International Student Awards

The International Student Awards category is an opportunity to showcase initiatives and achievements of international students through the following awards:

1. International Student of the Year – English Language Training
This Award will be presented to an international student who is studying a minimum of 20 weeks of an English Language course and has demonstrated outstanding academic achievement and contributed to the internationalisation of their institution and the broader Victorian community.

2. International Student of the Year – Vocational Education and Training (VET)
This Award will be presented to an international student who has undertaken a VET course and has demonstrated outstanding achievement in their studies and contributed to the internationalisation of their institution and the broader Victorian community. Winners of the student awards will be awarded a scholarship of $10,000 to contribute to their study in Victoria.

3. Premier’s award: International Student of the Year

4. International Student of the Year – Higher Education
This Award will be presented to an international student who has studied an undergraduate or postgraduate coursework based program at a Victorian university and demonstrated outstanding academic achievement and contributed to the internationalisation of their institution and the broader Victorian community.

5. International Student of the Year – Research
This Award will be presented to an international student who has been pursuing a postgraduate research program either at Masters (by Research) or PhD level, and has demonstrated outstanding academic achievement and contributed to the internationalisation of their institution and the broader Victorian community.

More than $200,000,000 Annual Government investment on international scholarships

The Australia Government places a lot of emphasis on promoting international education. There are many scholarships, grants and bursaries offered by the Australian Government, education institutions and a number of other public and private organisations, which can support international students financially with their studies.

Global Village Multicultural Festival

Australia is one of the most democratic countries in the world. It is a multicultural and multilingual country, with more than 70 nationalities.

Global Village Multicultural Festival was born when two Melbourne-based enthusiasts decided to broaden their keen charity work and involvement in cultural events beyond the Macedonian community. The idea was to create a community-based event that would bring together a diverse range of cultures in a positive, engaging and entertaining format.

Global Village Festival offers:

– Organization, advertising and promotion of different kinds of multiculturalism
– An opportunity and possibility for participation in Global Village Festival, regardless of the age, sex and religious belief
– An opportunity for participation in folk festival, various sport competitions, plays and films, food and trades

For the first time in Australia, the Global Village Multicultural Festival will take place on 24 & 25 October 2015, with the aim to unite people of varying cultural backgrounds in an enjoyable event.

Tesselaar Tulip Festival

Spring has finally arrived and now the time for the Tesselaar Tulip Festal is here!

In 2015, over 100,000 Tulips were planted, with more than 120 varieties, and to fit them all in, the grounds had to be expanded. Furthermore, this year it was announced that the world’s biggest clog would be unveiled. It is an art collaboration with internationally renowned chainsaw artist, Robbie Bast, and will become a permanent feature of the festival. Visitors can inside and have their photo taken

In addition to the beautiful tulips, there will many market stalls and foods, as well as live entertainment. This festival is truly a wonderful place to visit with family and friends.
